The Friends cast getting back together for an HBO Max special has made people more interested in the show’s characters. Fans worldwide still love Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, Joey, and Rachel’s antics in and around Central Perk, just like they did when the show first came out 28 years ago.
People who use Ranker have decided for themselves which character they liked best. This includes supporting characters like Gunther and Janice, who added to the show’s fun and the main cast. Since thousands of fans voted, there’s no question that the ranking shows who the fans think is the best.
Before falling hopelessly in love with Rachel, Gunther was just a minor character at Central Perk who was only seen in the background. During the 10 seasons, there were more than a dozen funny scenes where he tried to tell her how he felt but failed.
In Friends, Janice’s friends were not very nice to her because they thought she was annoying. However, fans love the character. The phrase “Oh my God!” used by Janice to introduce herself has become a part of pop culture, and people would cheer wildly every time she said it.
In hindsight, it seems like Phoebe and Mike were an underrated couple on Friends because Mike was the only person who wasn’t in the leading group who stayed on the show. Fans would have had to see something unique to believe an outsider could marry one of the gang, and Mike was more than up to the task.
Fans think that Jack is probably the best father in Friends since many bad parents are in the show. He was much nicer to Monica than he was to his wife. When his daughter broke up with Richard, he comforted her. Jack was also willing to make things up to her by saying sorry for favoring Ross by accident and giving her the Porsche she loved.
Ross taught a lot about life in Friends, even though the internet loves to hate on him for many different reasons. Ross led his fans when they should give in to their partners and when they should put their happiness first. Ross was the punchline of all the divorce jokes, but he kept going and got his happy ending.
Like Ross, Rachel gets a lot of flak for being a catty and jealous person in Ross’s relationships. But that was done for laughs, and Rachel got funnier as time went on. She also changes from a spoiled rich girl to an independent career woman and a responsible mother, just like Ross.
Monica used to be a pretty average person, but she changed into someone who was much meaner and, as Janine put it, “very loud for such a small person.” Still, that made her so likable because Monica’s over-competition and aggressiveness made her impossible to ignore.
Phoebe is the kind of weird character who can give fans a lot to like. She had the craziest ideas, like thinking her mother was reincarnated as a cat and that Santa was real. But she was so sweet and innocent about them that it was hard not to like her.
Joey Tribbiani was his name.
Joey was the most caring person on Friends. He was the best friend anyone could ask for. Joey was the perfect friend because of his enormous appetite, good looks, and charming personality. He was also the person anyone could count on because he treated his friends like family.
Chandler is the most well-known character from Friends. He stood out from the very beginning of the show. His self-deprecating sarcasm, wit, and tendency to make a fool of himself were unmatched. Chandler was also willing to change, and he was by far the character who grew up the most.
