The Luckiest Number in Royal Rumble History is now a three-way tie.

The Royal Rumble event is five days old, and the dust has yet to settle. A premium live event is usually held in WWE, and by Raw one or two days later, everyone is looking forward. While this may be true onscreen, it is not the case behind the scenes. The controversy surrounding Shane McMahon continues, and fans are still expressing their displeasure with what appears to be an objectively lousy show.

27 is no longer a lucky number.

Whether or not you enjoyed this year’s 30-player matches, they made history for a variety of reasons. Brock Lesnar set a new record for the fastest time from the start of the Rumble to the final elimination. Before that, Edge held the record. Lesnar’s victory makes him the fourth person from the number 30 position to win the match.

When it comes to Rumble numbers, you’d think that 30 would be the best choice. However, as is frequently stated in the lead-up to the event each year, that honor belongs to number 27. That’s no longer the case. With The Beast Incarnate’s victory, the number 27 spot now has four Rumble match winners, a record that is now shared by number 30.

27, 28, And 30

The second to last entrant in the Rumble has only ever managed to be the last person standing on two occasions. Lesnar and Edge got it done from number 29. As for other numbers that could reach four winners next year. The number one entrant is awaiting its fourth winner, as is the number 24. That leaves poor number 29 somewhat stranded among some big numbers.
