The Harry Potter films were nothing short of a worldwide sensation. The eight films enthralled viewers worldwide and grossed billions of dollars. However, fantastic films require a great deal of effort and attention. The actors and crew put in a decade of their lives to make and promote the movies. The three central characters, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, gave their entire youth to the films. The trio gave up any feeling of normalcy to star in the movie.
Emma Watson thought about leaving her role as Hermione Granger.
Watson, Grint, and Radcliffe have all admitted that dealing with the great recognition that the Harry Potter films brought them was difficult. Both Grint and Watson pondered leaving the franchise at one point or another. Of course, the difficulties they experienced were not limited to their off-camera lives. Watson admitted that she had trouble concentrating while the cameras were filming.
“Little Women” star recalls the most challenging aspect of filming the eight “Harry Potter” films.
Though each Harry Potter film has its own set of difficulties, Watson considers the last two the most demanding. She was not only dealing with complex subjects like torture and death, but she was also dealing with the elements. While filming both portions of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the Bling Ring actress claimed she was usually cold and wet. Even when shooting the final two films, she was in tears.
Surprisingly, Watson cited something else as the most challenging aspect of making the Harry Potter films. In an interview with JoBlo, the actress revealed that the most difficult part of the trilogy was keeping her performance new. She found it challenging to keep things fresh, engaging, and dynamic because she spent ten years of her life playing Hermione Granger. Fortunately, the final two films’ faster pace allowed her to find greater nuance.
“Keeping things fresh is absolutely the hardest thing,” Watson admitted. “The beautiful thing about this movie is that we built up this momentum, and there was this sort of frenzy to flitting back and forth between two separate projects, and we were trying to get the so much done that we did not have any choice but to be fast and on top of it since we shot two back-to-back.” The pace quickened, which aided us as actors because it’s challenging to provide a fresh performance when the rate is that slow. It’s difficult when you’ve been in the trailer for three hours.”
Watson relished the opportunity to play a more significant role in the last two ‘Harry Potter films.
Another factor that aided Watson was her expanded involvement in the final two Harry Potter films. Watson appears in most scenes in the seventh film as the trio is on the run. She stated that this helped her resurrect Hermione.
Watson explained, “I just had such a huge role.” “It gave me so much more room to develop and get into it, and I felt like I had so much more room to give it.” I was given some challenging tasks to complete, which allowed me to demonstrate my abilities, which was also enjoyable.” Filming the Harry Potter films was not without its difficulties. She, on the other hand, seems to have done quite well.
