Jude Law For “Secrets of Dumbledore” Nominated in National Film Award

The National Film Awards released the nominees for this year’s ceremony earlier this week. Jude Law’s Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore won the first award nomination. Law has been nominated in the Best Actor category for his depiction of Albus Dumbledore.

We’re ecstatic about this nomination and hope it means more good things are on the way for Secrets of Dumbledore. You may read what Law has said in recent interviews regarding his position as Dumbledore here.

Sir Kenneth Branagh’s (Gilderoy Lockhart) Belfast has been tremendously popular this awards season. It is another Wizarding World alumnus production among the candidates. It has received numerous nominations, including Best British movie and the Best Feature movie. Ciarán Hinds (Aberforth Dumbledore) has also been nominated for his role in the film in the Best Supporting Actor category. In addition, Dame Judi Dench was nominated for Best Actress, and Jude Hill and Jamie Dornan were both nominated for Outstanding Performance.

Last Night in Soho, starring James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), will compete against the Belfast for Best British Film and Best Feature Film and a Best Thriller nomination.

For his portrayal in The Duke, which was also nominated for Best Comedy. Jim Broadbent (Professor Slughorn) has been nominated for Global Contribution to Motion Picture award. In both categories, Broadbent and The Duke will face John Cleese (Nearly Headless Nick), and his part in Father Christmas Is Back.
Save the Cinema stars Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and Samantha Morton (Mary Lou Barebone) have been nominated for multiple accolades. Felton has nominated for Best Supporting Actor, while Morton was nominated for Best Actress. The film has also been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Drama.

In a TV Series for a significant role in 80 Days, David Tennant (Barty Crouch, Jr.) has been nominated for a good actor. Colin Farrell (Percival Graves) has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series for his part in The North Water, competing for Best TV Drama Series. The film is also set for Best Action in a Film/Series.

3.5 million film and television lovers submitted nominations, according to the National Film Academy. The people will again choose the winners, so show your support for Jude Law and the rest of the Wizarding World cast by voting on the National Film Awards website.
