Over the years, Daniel Radcliffe’s career has undergone a strange and exciting metamorphosis. Of course, many fans would recognize him as the title character from the “Harry Potter” films, which, like their book counterparts, were a commercial triumph. After the final installment in the main series was released in 2011, it would have been simple for Radcliffe to coast on the success of “Harry Potter.” Still, the actor underwent a career transition that many may not have anticipated.
Radcliffe started acting in more indie-focused movies rather than moving up the ladder to higher-profile roles. That includes recent films “The Lost City,” “Swiss Army Man,” and “Imperium.” The actor always seeks to diversify his repertoire in intriguing ways, and it appears that he never takes on the same kind of part twice. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Radcliffe is continuing this winning streak since he has a role as the titular parody music legend in the upcoming biopic “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” set for release later in 2022. However, there is one Marvel Cinematic Universe character that people overwhelmingly want to see Radcliffe play when he returns to shooting high-budget movies.
Marvel fans want to see Daniel Radcliffe be the next Wolverine
Hugh Jackman’s portrayal of the “X-Men” characters in the Fox “X-Men” films made them well-known to public audiences. Fans have been anticipating how the MCU would incorporate the characters, particularly Wolverine, into its narrative. Nearly 28% of respondents in a recent survey with a sample size of 565 voters said they preferred Daniel Radcliffe to play the mutant Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For many viewers, Radcliffe looks to be the right choice. The surface is stocky in muscle and on the shorter side in the comic book rendition. Given that Radcliffe can bulk up a little when necessary and that he is 5-feet-5-inches tall (according to USA Today), it makes sense. Other ideas for possible Marvel roles that Radcliffe could portray included fellow X-Men member Gambit, who received 23% of the vote, and Union Jack, who received 20% of the vote. Union Jack is a British superhero who has gone chiefly unnoticed by American audiences. Whatever the case, it’s evident that fans want Radcliffe to play a role in the MCU. Playing a pivotal figure like Wolverine might be the ideal way for the actor to push himself further while bringing a popular character back to the big screen.
