This Is How Ted Mosby can Cameo in HIMYF!

Sophie is figuring out who she is, what she wants out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options in the near future when she is telling her son the story of how she met his father. As a spinoff of How I Met Your Mother set in the same universe, one of the most significant issues moving into How I Met Your Father was how Sophie’s tale would link to Ted’s. However, How I Met Your Father made subtle tributes to the adored original characters from the start, with a few HIMYM cameos in the spinoff’s first season.

Ted Mosby Cameo

The most logical character to return to How I Met Your Father is Ted Mosby, played by Josh Radnor because he is the main protagonist of HIMYM. It is known that Ted Mosby will still be working and residing in the New York City area during the period covered by How I Met Your Father season 2, even though it is not known whether the show will move forward in time to late 2022 or early 2023.

Because Ted is probably still working as an architectural professor during the chronology of How I Met Your Father, one of the characters may enrol in one of his classes or run into him while on campus. It is possible that one of the characters in How I Met Your Father will inadvertently attend one of Ted’s architecture lectures rather than the class they were supposed to be listening to, similar to the way that Ted showed up to teach economics in HIMYM. There is also the possibility that Ted and Jesse will have a chance encounter at a pub during the second season of How I Met Your Father, thereby recreating the situation that existed when Sophie and Robin had their conversation about love at MacLaren’s Pub during the first season. Season 2 of How I Met Your Father is set up to include cameos from HIMYM’s original characters.
