Many fans think that Hulu’s How I Met Your Father, which started on January 18, 2022, doesn’t live up to the feeling of its predecessor, HIMYM. The last show, which ran from 2005 to 2014, is a masterpiece. It’s a mix of comedy and drama that works because it has a unique structure, deep dialogue, and well-developed, likeable main characters.
But Friends is the show that should be right next to HIMYM. Friends were the most popular show on TV for ten years, from 1994 to 2004. It was a lot like How I Met Your Mother. The show has been a massive hit because its characters and themes make people feel at ease. Even though HIMYM has a more prominent, overarching theme, it has the same set of crazy but likeable characters.
Gunther = Carl The Bartender
Carl, the Bartender from HIMYM, finds a friend in Gunther, the manager and barista at Central Perk. Their jobs involved serving and making a wide range of drinks, and they knew how important a friendly attitude was and loved making people feel welcome.
Pete Becker = Derek
Pete Becker, briefly in love with Monica and one of the Friends characters who were way ahead of their time, finds his perfect match in Robin’s ex-boyfriend Derek, who is worth a lot of money.
Virginia Mosby = Judy Geller
Virginia Mosby is the mother of Ted and Heather Mosby. Judy Geller is the mother of Ross and Monica Geller. Both women have the same style and often wear short hair in their TV shows.
Barney Stinson = Joey Tribbiani
Joey Tribbiani’s HIMYM counterpart is Barney Stinson, whose manipulation style takes philandering to a new level. Joey is not an exact personality twin of Barney, but he is like him in that he is good at telling stories and has the same childlike enthusiasm.
Lily Aldrin = Monica Geller
Monica Geller and Lily Aldrin go together like peanut butter and jelly. Both women had a strong sense of reality and were often the only ones in their groups who could talk sense. They loved to go shopping, keep their apartments clean, and get tough with people who were being bad. Monica liked rules, and Lily spent her time putting kids in kindergarten in line, and sometimes Robin.
Chandler Bing = Marshall Eriksen
Chandler Bing is a complex character on Friends. He has a lot of different sides to him, and Marshall Eriksen is the one who most resembles him in some ways. Both men are silly and sneaky in the same way.
Rachel Green = Robin Scherbatsky
Rachel Green is just as friendly, bold, and full of life as Robin Scherbatsky. When everyone from Rachel’s hometown of Long Island thought she would marry a successful orthodontist, she turned around and decided to live her life her way.
Ted Mosby = Ross Geller
Ross Geller and Ted Mosby played nerdy characters who always tried to correct other people. They both had complicated love lives, and their on-again, off-again relationships with Rachel and Robin were the emotional centre of their shows. Both of them went on to become professors at NYU and Columbia University.
