Barbie Ferreira has confirmed that she will not participate in the third season of “Euphoria.”
The performer announced her probable departure on Instagram, stating in a story post that she “had to say a very teary-eyed goodbye after four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat.” I sincerely hope that many of you, like myself, could recognise aspects of yourselves in her and that it brought you delight to follow her development into the person she is now. I hope you can sense the care and love I poured into her from the bottom of my heart. Love you, Katherine Hernandez.”
Kat, who Sydney Sweeney and Alexa Demie played, was the best friend of Maddie (Alexa Demie) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney). Throughout the episode, Kat transformed her appearance and sexuality, becoming a body positivity icon and model. Nevertheless, many were perplexed when her storyline was being pushed farther into the background in Season 2. Although there were rumours of conflict on-site between Ferreira and the show’s creator Sam Levinson, including that Ferreira had stormed off set, which HBO rejected, the actor dispelled these rumours in an interview with Insider that took place in March.
“I think that the fans are passionate, and I do appreciate that.” she stated, “I truly think that the fans are incredibly passionate, and I appreciate that since ‘Euphoria’ has influenced so many people.” “Sometimes, things take on a life of their own, and even though they’re not anchored in reality, it’s okay because I know it’s just out of passion and out of curiosity and all the other nice stuff. In addition, I decided to sign up for it. So, I’ll take it. I’m willing to take both the good and the terrible with me.”
