How Kaley Cuoco Bypassed the Embarrassing Stages in Growing Out Her Hair

For want of a better term, Kaley Cuoco’s hair transformation from lob to pixie and back has been a perfect ten. Her ability to seamlessly transition between different lengths has long intrigued us, and we’ve got Instagram photos to prove it. Cuoco hasn’t gone through a bad hair day in years. Growing out one’s hair can be likened to adolescence for many women, complete with awkward phases and bizarre happenings. Cuoco, on the other hand, is different. As of January of this year, hers is longer than it was when it was the shortest in 2015. For the answer, we turned to her hairstylist, Christine Symonds.

“The trick to growing out Kaley’s pixie has been trimming the back of her hair every so often to let the front and sides catch up,” she reveals. In the images below, you can watch the progression right before your eyes. When hiding Kaley’s hair’s unusual lengths and stages, we used products such as a texturing mist and Kenra Platinum Dry Texture Spray.” With her untidy, bed-head-y texture, Symonds distracted us from Cuoco’s wonkiness. That is a must-read piece of advice for those who find themselves in a transitional situation. Grab a curling iron and some texturizer when you hit a snag in the growing-out process. In a way, it’s a disguise for a terrible hair day.

Even though Kaley Cuoco’s hair is now barely past the shoulders, rarely awkward even if you chop down a few inches, the same styling strategies still apply: With the correct texture spray and a few rounds with a curling iron, you can fool anyone into thinking your hair is just the length you’ve always desired.
