After AJ Styles accepts his open WrestleMania challenge, Edge goes heel.

Edge wanted a challenger for WrestleMania, but he wasn’t happy when that challenger was AJ Styles. The Rated-R Superstar revealed his true self.

Edge said he wanted a challenger for WrestleMania, and he got one when AJ Styles answered the call for someone to step up and become an icon at the show of all shows, and against one of the company’s biggest stars. The Phenomenal One entered the ring to accept Edge’s challenge, and it didn’t take long for things to fall apart or for Edge to reveal his true colors.

The Ultimate Opportunist pummelled Styles in the corner until Styles fought back and gave Edge a taste of his requested bulldog. Edge ducked a Phenomenal Forearm and kicked Styles in the groin, laying the groundwork for a heinous attack and two Conchairto shots to close the show. The Rated-R Superstar was back, he didn’t care about the fans’ perception of him, and he’d be playing the heel role in their WrestleMania match.

Edge Is Back To Being A Villain

Edge thrives in this type of role. While Styles can play both characters, having him enter the match as a babyface will rally the WWE Universe behind him. If The Rated-R Superstar delivers some of his classic heel promos, this could be one of the most anticipated matches of the entire two-night event.
